Description
Key Role:
Lead a client delivery and assignment team to analyze and evaluate the performance of networks composed of networking technologies, including IP, MPLS, ATM, and Ethernet. Analyze threats, vulnerabilities, and risks of IP backbone networks. Create and develop networking models for clients using modeling tools, including OPNET SP Guru, OPNET IT Guru, and OPNET Modeler. Collect and interpret client network data for input into networking models. Evaluate modeling results and network performance metrics to assist with evaluating proposed network upgrades or application changes. Establish performance metrics and analyze and improve the performance of operational networks. Document and present analysis results and findings to clients. Perform as the task lead responsible for task coordination and management and provide functional expertise to client deliverables and presentations.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
-4+ years of experience with engineering or network planning within the telecommunications industry or an enterprise network environment
-4+ years of experience with telecommunications and data networking protocols and technologies, including IP, ATM, MPLS, Ethernet, or BGP
-Ability to work effectively with staff of various technical competence levels
-Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
-BS degree
Additional Qualifications:
-Experience in the engineering or network planning groups of a telecommunications service provider or equipment manufacture, including Lucent, Cisco, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, Global Crossing, Level 3, Qwest, Savvis, Cogent Communications, or XO Communications a plus
-Experience with OPNET network modeling software modules, including IT Guru, SPGuru, or ACE
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Possession of excellent organizational skills in a rapidly-changing environment
-BS degree in EE, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, CS, or another related telecommunications field.
